STC Battery rebate available now

So, how much will I save?

We’ll help you understand exactly what this means for your setup. With recent changes to the STC scheme from 1st May 2026, rebates have been reduced, but there are still solid savings available for eligible systems.

  • Rebate available: Federal STC incentives still apply to eligible battery systems
  • Meaningful savings: You can still reduce the upfront cost of installing battery storage
  • Eligibility: Available for homes, small businesses, and community facilities
  • Not means-tested: Open to all eligible property owners
  • VPP-ready required: Systems must be capable of Virtual Power Plant integration

We’ll walk you through your options and make sure you’re getting the most value from what’s currently available.

2026 Case Study: Sigenergy Smart Home System with EV Integration

Project Summary

The homeowners wanted a clean, modern energy system that would reduce their power bills, provide backup capability, and support EV charging.

With the STC rebate reduced from May 2026, the focus was on getting the right system size and performance rather than oversizing purely for incentives. The solution centred around a Sigenergy system, giving the client a fully integrated platform for solar, battery storage, and energy management.

Key Features

32 kWh Sigenergy SigenStor battery system

The installation included a 32 kWh modular Sigenergy battery system, providing ample storage for overnight use and increased energy independence. Even with the reduced STC rebate, the system still benefits from available federal incentives.

The modular design allows for future expansion if energy needs grow.

10 kW inverter with integrated energy management

The system includes a 10 kW Sigenergy inverter, delivering strong performance for both solar generation and battery operation. The integrated energy management system automatically balances solar, battery, and grid usage.

The homeowners can monitor everything through a user-friendly app, giving full visibility of energy production and consumption.

Gateway backup for outage protection

A Sigenergy Gateway Backup was installed to support whole site power needs during power outages. This ensures all areas of the home such as lighting, refrigeration, heating and cooling and communications remain operational when the grid is down. (Requires Tariff 93)

7 kW AC EV charger

The home was fitted with a 7 kW AC EV charger, providing reliable and cost-effective overnight charging. This setup keeps installation costs practical while still meeting everyday charging needs.

Tariff 93 for smarter energy use

The homeowners switched to Tariff 93 to take advantage of lower off-peak electricity rates. This allows the system to charge the battery using lower-cost power when solar generation is limited.

Stored energy can then be used throughout the evening and overnight, reducing reliance on higher-cost grid electricity even on low-solar days.

Optimised solar integration

The solar system was designed to align with daytime usage and battery charging requirements. This improves self-consumption and reduces reliance on the grid, especially during peak periods.

Outcome

The homeowners now have a streamlined, future-ready energy system built around reliable Sigenergy technology.

They are generating, storing, and managing their own energy, while also taking advantage of off-peak tariffs to keep costs down. The addition of EV charging and backup capability makes the system both practical and resilient.

Even with the reduced STC rebate, the system delivers strong long-term value through lower energy costs and improved energy independence.

Why it’s a standout

This project shows how smart energy design goes beyond solar alone. By combining a 32 kWh battery, 10 kW inverter, backup capability, EV charging, and Tariff 93 optimisation, the homeowners have a system that performs well in all conditions, not just sunny days.
